Chassis Certification Information updated 2/05
Professional Certification: (Maroon Tag) 2 years
· This Certification is required for all Professional Classes, TS, TD, Modified and ET Entries running quicker than 7.50 seconds in the ¼ mile.
· Chrome plating prohibited. The drivers side kidney bar #40D in 25.1E is not mandatory for certification until 1/1/05
· The SFI Specifications numbers that apply are: 25-1, 10-1, 2.3, 2.5, 2.2, 2.4
Sportsman Certification: (Blue Tag with football attached) 3 years
· This Certification is required for TS and TD entries between 7.50 and 9.00 seconds in the ¼ mile.
· The SFI Specifications numbers that apply are: 2.5, 2.6, 2.7, 25.4 and comp
· Top Sportsman (SFI 25.4) entries must have an SFI 25.1 type "funny car cage" to certify.
Sportsman Certification: (Blue Tag without football) 3 years
· Bracket entries and slower IHRA entries that want (or require) certification. 7.59 to 9.00 or that exceeds 150 mph. We do not use 25.5. It is included for reference purposes. 25.4, 10.1, 2.6, 2.7 and Rulebook specs minimum.
Fees:
- IHRA Event: An IHRA National, Divisional or Bracket Final Event. Fees: Professional (maroon) $100, Sportsman (blue) $75
- IHRA Scheduled Seminar:
A Seminar scheduled at the convenience of IHRA. Fees: Professional (maroon) $100, Sportsman (blue) $75
- Requested Seminar:
A Seminar scheduled at the request of a racetrack, a group of racers, a chassis shop, etc. There must be a minimum of 12 chassis requesting certification. Fees: Professional (maroon) $100, Sportsman (blue) $75
- Remote Inspections:
A small group or special circumstances. Fees: Professional (maroon) $100, Sportsman (blue) $75 plus travel expenses and Inspectors Salary. Call for a quote.
NOTE: First Chassis Inspection Seminar will be held on April 29-30 & May 1st at the Harry J. MacDonald Arena during the Alaska Custom Car & Cycle Show. Call for Dates & Time Slots Available.
